Dear Anthony, Stephen,Alan & Jackie,

Your dear dad passed away whilst we were in Israel. We had two new grandsons to see there on Robert’s side and my daughter and family. We jumped through hoops to get there as you can imagine? It was especially hard as we hadn’t seen them all for so long and we had been very observant of all the rules and regulations here all the way through so it felt like a huge step!

We felt the safest people around for a while as we had so many tests there and here it would have been impossible to slip through the net.

I suppose I have put off writing to you as there is so much to say about your lovely dad I didn’t really know where to start? We did talk to both Julie and Anthony during the Shivah week but of course we missed seeing all of you in person!

We all thought and hoped your dad would go on and on! Obviously that was not possible and hopefully he did not suffer!

My parents had a lovely friendship with yours. It was all the sweeter for being a friendship that grew in their latter years. When your mum and then my dad passed away that bond could have easily come to an end. Thankfully it didn’t and your dad and our mum formed a deep and meaningful friendship that lasted until the end.

My mum always said she could tell Sidney anything and they confided in each other and thought the world of each other. They enjoyed a unique friendship and enjoyed each other’s company immensely.

Your dad took mum to some lovely concerts and operas, they enjoyed many restaurant meals together and Friday night dinners. She will miss him, his company and friendship hugely.

We are grateful for the happiness he brought her for many years when she missed our dad so much. Likewise I am sure you all feel the same after your lovely mum passed away that he had the company of our mum!

Sidney was a very special man. We all admired him for his ‘youthfulness’ something for us all to aspire to but also because he was so kind and caring.Even when he himself wasn’t in the greatest shape he would call me to check on mum if he couldn’t get an answer to his phone calls.

She will miss their chats and just knowing he is there!

We wish you all ‘Long Life’ and hope that the wonderful memories of your darling dad will keep you going through this difficult time. We will all miss him!

Very Best Wishes,

Judy & Robert
